Threat one win away from title game
The text message appeared on Greg Olson's cell phone last weekend while watching his daughter's soccer match. And then they started coming in bunches for the owner and right guard for the Racine Threat minor-league football team. The mighty Chicago Thunder, four-time defending champions of the Mid-States Football League who were on a collision course with the Threat in a second-round game, were ousted in the playoffs.

KENOSHA - The Racine Threat are one victory away from the Mid-States Football League championship.Behind dominating performances from running back Greg Sanders and quarterback Ben Adrian, the Threat defeated the McHenry (Ill.) Pirates 51-21 Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the MSFL Tournament at Ameche Field in Kenosha.Sanders rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. Adrian completed 14 of 27 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns.
Threat win season finale on the road
The Racine Threat got just the shot of momentum they needed Saturday night. In their final regular-season game, the Threat beat the Midstate Steel 40-16 in a Mid-States Football League game at the Dragon's Dome at Pekin, Ill., winning on the road for just the second time this season. Quarterback Ben Adrian passed for three touchdowns - two to Alfredo Jackson and one to Mike Pottinger - and Greg Sanders rushed for 100 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. The Threat (6-2) will take Labor Day weekend off, then begin the MSFL playoffs Sept.
New Practice Schedule for the playoffs
Due to the sun setting sooner practice will start at 5:30pm and run til 7:30pm Mon, Wed, and Fri.
